About IIFM Bhopal
Established in 1982 as an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, IIFM was conceptualized in response to the recommendations of the National Commission on Agriculture. The impetus generated by these recommendations culminated in an alliance with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad through which the philosophy and raison d’erte of IIFM was evolved. The Swedish International Development Agency also contributed financially and technically in establishing the Institute. A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (it may also be referred to as Persons With Disability (PWD) categories), awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2027 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2027) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. Apply and appear for CAT 2026 / XAT 2027. IIFM will use CAT/XAT score for short-listing the candidates. IIMs/XLRI have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. |

The fee payable by students admitted to MBA courses are as follows:
General Category/ Non-creamy OBC/ Differently Abled Candidates: - They are required to pay Rs.7,78,800 (non-refundable) as the first year fee receipt of the admission offer. The second year of academic fee of Rs.5,19,200/- (non-refundable) has to be paid on or before the commencement of the second year’s academic session, i.e. before the fourth Term.
SC/ST Candidates: - They are required to pay an amount of Rs.4,67,280/- (nonrefundable) as the first year fee on the receipt of the admission offer. The second year of academic fee of Rs. 3,11,520/- (non-refundable) has to be paid in second year academic session i.e. before the fourth Term.
The above fee does not include mess charges and caution money of Rs. 30,000/-. Mess is run on cooperative basis by students themselves and approximate expenditure would be Rs. 4500/- per month.

Life at College
A typical day at IIFM generally begins at eight-breakfast means a run to the mess, a hurried bite and a jog to class, which begins at eight thirty, Classes stretch through the day, almost up to four, but each lecture becomes a forum for intellectual stimulation, debate and deep thought.
But seven hours of lectures is just one part of the day. Most would agree that the day at IIFM begins at dusk. IIFM lays great emphasis on students’ responsibility, which essentially means that it is the students who run the mess, organise activities, ideate and implement whatever they think would enrich their learning experience.
Quiz sessions, open house debates and guest lectures are often part of our evenings. Dinner follows, and with it the realization of the next day’s work. For even as we explore our talents, academic rigourrigour is not compromised. The 230-acre serene campus is the perfect setting for quiet study.
The night is generally spent with groups preparing presentations, assignments and preparation for the next day’s classes. This of course is punctuated with sudden visions of the future and arguments on hotly debated issues! And sleep? At IIFM that’s just an indulgence it’s hard to find time for!
